Inner Update: Embracing the Flirt Within
This month in Inner Update, we’re exploring The Flirt, a lively and charming Self from Tamar Stone’s Selves in a Box deck.
Your Flirt expresses itself through gestures like a handshake, a wink, or a smile—simple ways to connect and make others feel special. It thrives on mutual connections and embodies a vital, playful relationship with life. It has a wonderful ability to make others of any age, gender or species feel special.
As with all Selves, your Flirt exists on a spectrum:
When primary, it can be dominant, seeking attention but risking insensitivity to boundaries. You might judge others as boring or too serious.
When disowned, it feels hidden, leaving you inhibited or disconnected from life’s vitality. You might criticize those who seem flirtatious as promiscuous.
To balance your Flirt:
- If primary, reflect on your intentions. Are you connecting authentically or seeking validation? Respect others’ boundaries and embrace deeper connections.
- If disowned, try small acts of connection—a smile or compliment. Allow yourself to embrace playfulness and vitality.
Reflection prompts:
- When did I last feel truly playful and engaged?
- What fears or judgments hold me back from expressing my Flirt?
- How can I bring more presence and affection into my life?
Your Flirt reminds you to engage with life wholeheartedly. By embracing it, you unlock a natural charm and joy that enriches your connections.
