Exploring The Ordinary:

The focus for this month is on The Ordinary, a Self that finds joy in the mundane.

This month, we turn our attention to the most unassuming — and often overlooked — inner self: The Ordinary.

Your Ordinary is the part of you that finds delight in the mundane. It is content without applause, unfazed by the chase for recognition. The Ordinary isn’t trying to stand out — in fact, it would rather blend in. It finds nourishment in familiar routines, simple pleasures, and the sacred rhythm of everyday life. Drinking tea from your favorite chipped mug, hearing birds at dawn, folding laundry with both hands and heart — these are the quiet moments where the Ordinary feels most alive.

If this Self is primary in you, you might be a grounding force to others — consistent, calm, and steady. But you may also resist change, shun risk, or look down on those who dream big.

If this Self is disowned, you might constantly chase the extraordinary, exhausted by the pressure to be unique, different, or “special.” You may miss the magic of ordinary time — judging it (and those who live it) as dull or uninspired.

This month, make space for your Ordinary. Let it slow you down. Notice the subtle, sacred pulse of your daily life. There’s deep wisdom in its humility, and quiet beauty in its contentment.

After all, sometimes the most extraordinary thing you can do — is simply be.
